Triple Nine Targets Casey Affleck, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Michael B. Jordan

Jon Hillcoat is pulling together the cast for his upcoming Triple Nine and TheWrap is reporting that Casey Affleck (Out of the Furnace, Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave) and Michael B. Jordan (Fruitvale Station) are now in talks to join Cate Blanchett and Christoph Waltz for the crime drama.

Featuring a screenplay by Matt Cook, Triple Nine centers on a L.A. heist in which a group of thieves plan to kill a cop (a “Code 999” in police parlance) to divert authorities from their own crime scene across town.

Previous iterations of the project have attracted the likes of Shia LaBeouf and Charlie Hunnam in the cop role that is now being targeted for Affleck. Jordan, too, would play, albeit one on the wrong side of the law. His character secretly works with a criminal leader (Ejiofor), who masterminds the planned killing.

Bard Dorros, Steve Golin and Keith Redmon are producing through Anonymous Content with Megan Ellison financing through Panorama Media.
