As his latest, Nebraska, is hitting theaters on November 15, Alexander Payne may already have lined up his next project. Deadline is reporting that Payne is in talks with Fox Searchlight to adapt Ruth Prawer Jhabvala’s final article for “The New Yorker,” The Judge’s Will.
The article, which ran just a week before Jhabvala’s death, relates the true story of a judge in Delhi who, in his final days, is forced to finally explain to his wife that a secret mistress will be included in his will. You can read the full story by clicking here.
Conde Nast Entertainment and Ad Hominem Enterprises will produce the film, which will received distribution through Fox Searchlight.
