According to Deadline, Brightburn star David Denman has joined the Gerald Butler thriller Greenland, in which he will play a “compassionate man who resorts to desperate measures to save his wife and himself.” The film details one family’s fight for survival in the face of a cataclysmic natural disaster.

Ric Roman Waugh (Shot Caller, Snitch) directs from a script by Chris Sparling (Buried, The Sea Tree) with revisions by Mitchell LaFortune. STX Films will handle domestic distribution on the project.
The film is being produced by Thunder Road Films’ Basil Iwanyk (Sicario, John Wick), who also had a hand in development, alongside Butler and Alan Siegel via their G-BASE production company. Anton is both producing and fully financing the picture, while CAA Media Finance arranged its financing, as well as represented the project’s domestic rights alongside Anton.

Denman is best known for his work on TV’s The Office, and Michael Bay’s 13 Hours.
