Armie Hammer Says He Has No Interest in Playing Batman

Since the announcement that the upcoming Superman/Batman movie would feature a new Batman, fans have been casting their ideal version of the character, and some of those include The Lone Ranger himself, Armie Hammer, in the role. Hammer was originally signed to appear as Batman in George Miller’s Justice League film back in 2007, but now he says he doesn’t have any interest in the part, or any superheroes for that matter.

“I’m not actually a big fan of superhero films,” he said in an interview with Metro. “If you have a guy who is supposed to be invulnerable, then what’s the point?”

Hammer is scheduled to begin filming The Man From U.N.C.L.E. with the Man of Steel, Henry Cavill, this September anyway, and he doesn’t want people to get the wrong impression.

“I think if Henry and I did that film and then a superhero film straight after, people might start to wonder about us…”

Little is known about the upcoming Superman/Batman movie, but David Goyer is currently co-writing the story with director Zack Snyder. Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane will return. Who do you want to see play the caped crusader?
