Man of Steel star Kevin Costner has signed on to lead Midnight Delivery, Variety reports. The film, set up at Universal, will be produced by Pacific Rim helmer Guillermo del Toro and Lava Bear Productions’ David Linde.
Scripted by Neil Cross (Mama) and based on an original idea by Del Toro, Midnight Delivery will find Costner as a father who is forced to become a drug mule to protect his son.
Costner can be seen coming up in a variety of major projects, including Paramount Pictures’ Jack Ryan reboot, Ivan Reitman’s sports comedy Draft Day, McG’s action thriller Three Days to Kill and Mike Bender’s drama Black and White.
Russell Ackerman and Gary Ungar are attached to executive produce Midnight Delivery.
