Long in-development, Relativity Media’s Hunter Killer appears set to finally make to the screen. Variety reports that Charlie’s Angels and Terminator Salvation director McG is set to helm the action drama.
Based on the novel “Firing Point” by Don Keith and George Wallace, Hunter Killer follows an untested submarine captain who must work with a Navy SEAL team to rescue the Russian president, who has been taken prisoner during a military coup, in an effort to stop a rogue Russian General from igniting World War III.
McG, who most recently helmed the action rom-com This Means War, is currently working on the Relativity thriller Three Days to Kill with Kevin Costner, Hailee Steinfeld, Amber Heard and Connie Nielsen starring.
Hunter Killer will be produced by Toby Jaffe and Neal Mortiz with Tucker Tooley executive producing.
