It’s hard to believe that it’s been nearly three years since Joel and Ethan Coen’s last movie, True Grit, was turning into their biggest box office hit to date. Rumor has it that its follow-up and their most recent film Inside LLewyn Davis has been finished for a number of months, leaving their fans anxiously wondering when we might finally see it.
They’ll have to wait a little longer though as CBS Films, who picked up the distribution rights for “Llewyn Davis” a few months back–the connection may come from the Coens’ screenplay for CBS Films’ Gambit remake –have set the movie’s release date, giving it a limited release on December 6, 2013 and then expanding it on December 20.
The film stars Oscar Isaac as an aspiring singer-songwriter as he navigates the 1960s folk-music scene in New York Citys Greenwich Village with a soundtrack produced by Grammy-winner T Bone Burnett, co-starring Carey Mulligan (who appeared opposite Isaac in Nicolas Refn’s Drive), John Goodman, Garrett Hedlund, F. Murray Abraham and Justin Timberlake.
