Last month, Variety‘s Marc Graser reported that former “Harry Potter” star Emma Watson was in early talks to star in Walt Disney Pictures’ Cinderella, but he now says that Watson has decided to not join Cate Blanchett in the film.
Produced by Simon Kinberg, the film was originally written by The Devil Wears Prada screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna with subsequent rewrites by The Twilight Saga: New Moon director Chris Weitz. Production is planned to begin this fall in London.
Watson can be seen in Darren Aronofsky’s upcoming Noah, Sofia Coppola’s The Bling Ring and Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen’s This is the End.
