The Central Park Zoo’s beloved animals have been on a long journey back home, since their great escape back in DreamWorks Animation’s 2005 blockbuster hit Madagascar. Accidentally shipped into the heart of Africa, the New Yorkers learned to adapt to and survive in the great jungle. Resuming their relentless quest back to NYC, the wild adventures continued as the zoosters and their hilarious new buddies landed in the vast, primitive plains of Africa in the sequel Madagascar 2: Escape 2 Africa.
In the third installment, Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted, opening on Friday, June 8, the four amigos and their entourage of chimps and penguins surface in Europe, where they encounter more trouble on their long trek back home. While getting chased across the continent by a hilariously-deranged French animal control officer (voice by Frances McDormand), they find refuge with a traveling has-been circus, devise a plan to reinvent it, find new inspirations and have loads of psychedelic fun on the road back to New York City with their new circus family.
ComingSoon.net recently sat down with Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, Jada Pinkett Smith, David Schwimmer, Cedric the Entertainer and Martin Short to talk about the challenges of voicing their characters, how things have evolved and changed, what to expect and what they enjoyed most about part three of the popular franchise.
