9 Cool References from Kingsman: The Secret Service

Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman: The Secret Service hits theaters on Friday, February 13, and while you can enjoy it knowing absolutely nothing about the Mark Millar-Dave Gibbons comic book on which it’s based or having ever seen any of the James Bond movies that were an inspiration for both the comic and the movie, we thought it would be fun to shine a light on some of the film’s cooler and possibly more obscure references.

Kingsman: The Secret Service stars Colin Firth as Harry Hart, a Kingsman agent who recruits the son of a former agent, Eggy (Taron Egerton), to go through the rigorous training process to become a Kingsman. At the same time, celphone mogul Richmond Valentine (Samuel L. Jackson) is making plans to save the world in a way that will potentially leave billions dead as he only plans on saving the wealthiest and most powerful individuals.

Vaughn’s latest movie is filled with lots of pop culture references, some more apparent than others, and in the gallery below, you can learn a few of the most interesting aspects of the movie that you may or may not catch otherwise. And fear not, none of these references are plot spoilers for those who don’t want to have the plot spoiled before you see the movie.
