With Sony Pictures’ The Amazing Spider-Man 2 already playing all over the world, the cast of the Marc Webb-directed sequel finally returned to New York City for the movie’s North American premiere and to do some interviews for the movie.
Every good superhero movie needs to have a strong villain or two (or in this case, three), and ComingSoon.net/SuperHeroHype had a chance to sit down with Jamie Foxx and Dane DeHaan, the two actors hired to bring two of Spidey’s long-time villains to the big screen. Foxx was cast as Max Dillon aka Electro just a few months after the release of the 2012 reboot, but DeHaan’s role as Harry Osborn, originally played by James Franco in Sam Raimi’s “Spider-Man” trilogy, was kept under wraps for quite some time with no guarantee we’d see his evil alter ego, the Green Goblin. Last year, it became more apparent that Sony was building up to something bigger with plans to bring many of Spider-Man’s villains together.
In the video interview below, you can watch and hear Foxx and DeHaan talking about what went into creating their versions of Electro and Harry Osborn, while we also tried to get anything out of either of them about the part their characters might play in future Spider-Man movies, including the planned The Sinister Six spin-off.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is now playing internationally, but it will finally open in North America and a few other countries on Thursday, May 1. Look for our interviews with director Marc Webb and stars Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone later this week.
