At the recent D23 event, it was revealed that Doctor Strange would be indirectly responsible for the show’s Peter Parker receiving his spider-like abilities. This was confirmed via footage shown at the event. The footage showed a monster attacking Peter’s high school on his first day. Before Peter is harmed, Doctor Strange arrives through a portal and saves him. However, a spider jumps out of that portal as Strange departs and bites Peter as he meets schoolmate Nico Minoru. Months later, Peter is shown wearing a low-tech Spider-Man suit and is fighting two criminals with the help of Norman Osborn, who aids him as his “man in the chair.” The two criminals stopped by Peter include a speedster and a villain using “two gauntlets with energy blades.” (via Screen Rant)
