Legendary K-pop act Red Velvet will celebrate its 11th anniversary in August 2024. To commemorate the occasion, the act has shared dates of a special fan meeting concert.
SM Entertainment’s award-winning K-pop act Red Velvet remains one of the most popular girl groups ever. From their live vocals to beautiful concepts, not many K-pop groups have delivered diverse themes with perfection as flawlessly as Red Velvet members.
Though the group has limited its activities after a decade of releasing albums, the craze and anticipation for new Red Velvet music remain the same. In 2024, the group shared a mysterious teaser for their upcoming comeback, which will be released before the fan concert.
Red Velvet unveils fan meeting concert dates
K-pop queens Red Velvet will hold their 11th-anniversary special fan meeting concerts on August 3 and 4 at the Olympic Handball Gymnasium at 6 p.m. KST and 4 p.m. KST, respectively. The ‘HAPPINESS: My Dear, ReVe1uv’ concert teases to reveal more details later.
As per SM Entertainment, the group will return to the music scene with a new mini album before the comeback. Red Velvet’s seventh mini album, Cosmic, will drop on June 24 at 6 p.m. KST, 5 a.m. ET, 10 a.m. BST and 2.30 p.m. IST. Fans can pre-save the EP here.
Meanwhile, Red Velvet made their last comeback with the full-length studio album Chill Kill on November 13, 2023. The album sold over 611,531 copies in South Korea within a week of its release, ranking at number 1 on the Circle Album Chart. It stood at 11th on the Billboard US World Albums Chart.
Along with commercial performances on the chart, Red Velvet mesmerized fans yet again in their 2023 series of concerts. Critics and fans praised the group’s outstanding live vocals and the cinematic K-pop stages that made the experience of watching them perform unique.
The Guardian hailed their Wembley show as an extravaganza, writing: “The show that Yeri, Irene, Seulgi, and Wendy (minus Joy, who is on hiatus) unveil is a shapeshifting extravaganza that explores each side of their artistry to the fullest.”
Fans expect the group to announce more dates for their 2024 series of concerts after the anniversary fan concert. Before the August fan meeting, fans can watch the group live at the K-Mega Concert in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, on July 13, 2024.
