Mnet’s Build Up Episode 9 has shared a preview, which gives a sneak peek of the semi-final mission and songs. The four teams in the semi-final will have only one chance before the finale. Three out of four groups will qualify for the grand finale.
The quarter finale of Build Up impressed fans, and twenty contestants gave their all to perform. The Partners team of Donghun, Park Jeup, Bain, and Jeon Woong delivered one of the most swoon-worthy performances covering Taemin’s “Guilty.” The Milky Up team of Soomin, Geonu, Seohyung, and Choi Haram compelled judges to get up and dance to their rendition of “Uptown Funk.”
Jay, Bitsaeon, Seunghun, and Minseo covered Woodz’s “Drowning.” From Jay Chung’s high notes to the team’s perfect harmonization, HUN-MIN-JAY-BIT proved they are worthy of their place in Build Up. Sunyoul, Suhwan, Kang Hayoon, and Wumuti of Water Fire performed Aespa’s “Drama” and scored 95 from the judges.
Build Up episode 8 release date and preview
Build Up episode 9 will be released on March 22 at 10:10 p.m. KST/9:10 a.m. ET on Mnet K-pop YouTube. Global fans can livestream the episode from the Mnet K-pop channel.
The preview of the upcoming episode revealed the tracklist of the forthcoming mission, which includes the original songs “Flower,” “Someday,” “You & I,” and “Lose Yourself.” Jay Chung’s team will perform “Flower,” the Water-Fire team will sing “Someday,” Je Up, Donghun, Bain, and Woong will cover “Lose Yourself,” and the Milky Up team will perform BTS famed producer Pdogg’s track “You & I” in the semi-finals.
Meanwhile, at the end of episode 8, Mnet revealed the candidates’ total scores and current ranking. The DO—RE-MI-FA team of Gwangseok, Yeo One, Junhyeok, and Inhyuk was eliminated after having the lowest scores.
The current ranking and scores of the current teams are:
- Milky Up – 877 points
- Partners – 841 points
- HUN-MIN-JAY-BIT – 754 points
- Water-Fire – 715 points
- DO-RE-MI-FA – 641 points
The scoring is based on judges’ scores, on-site voting, and pre-votes of worldwide fans. Voting will continue till the finale as per Mnet’s norms. If Build Up follows Mnet’s famous show Boys Planet rules, followers will get the last chance to vote for their favorite team/ contestants during the live finale.
