Although the episode ended on a happy note for Kim San, the end was rather open-ended as he met with a suspicious Uncle Samsik.
Uncle Samsik episode 7: Byun Yo-Han and Song Kang-Ho make a smart move
The latest Uncle Samsik episode began with Kim San receiving the Albright Scholarship from General Choi Han-Rim. The latter urged Kim San to study abroad and return with a goal in mind, cementing a strong relationship between them. Meanwhile, Uncle Samsik handled the new declaration from young soldiers when he discovered Choi Han-Rim potentially becoming the First Operations Commander General.
While answering questions in the Defense Unit, Kim San expressed his utmost regard for Han-Rim, rejecting accusations about the duo ever planning a coup. The episode showed their reunion at an Albright Scholarship event. Uncle Samsik felt jealous of Kim San and Han-Rim’s relationship. Michael Jeong then invited his sister, Rachel Jeong, to speak on behalf of the foundation. She invited alumni Kim San, Kim Kwang-Min, and Jung Han-Min to award the scholarships to this year’s batch.
After the event, Rachel met with Uncle Samsik, who looked suspiciously at her. Meanwhile, Park Jin-Wook met with Kang Seong-Min, assuring the latter that he took care of the Sineui Alliance documents. Back at the event, Rachel met Kim San, applauding him on the Reconstruction Plan. On the other hand, Uncle Samsik sent Han-Min to check if General Choi Han-Rim would ever join politics. However, they couldn’t get relevant information.
After the event, Han-Rim asked Kim San to meet him later as he had something to say. While leaving together, Kim San asked Uncle Samsik to leave Han-Rim alone. Instead of killing Han-Rim, Uncle Samsik devised a plan to plant bait for him. Furthermore, Uncle Samsik greenlit an article in the press, mounting pressure on Seong-Min to pass the Local Government Act. Jin-Wook then threatened the assemblymen, who were against the passing of the act as they didn’t trust Seong-Min.
During his meeting with Seong-Min, Jin-Wook raised suspicions about Uncle Samsik. However, the latter managed the situation, manipulating Seong-Min to trust him. The two talked about passing the act as soon as possible. Before heading home, a drunk Seong-Min went to relieve himself when fellow Sineui Alliance founder Cha Tae-Min threatened to shoot him. Tae-Min gave Seong-Min a final chance to make things right.
Meanwhile, Kim San promised a reporter a scoop to continue his plans for Seong-Min’s downfall. He planned to swoop in just when Seong-Min would pass the act. While Kim San explained the reconstruction plans to Democratic Party members, the Liberal Party assemblymen gathered at the National Assembly, waiting for Seong-in to pass the act.
Kim San informed the Democratic Party members of Seong-Min that his bill could potentially be passed tonight. After Seong-Min’s arrival, he joined the Democratic Party members, blocking the Liberal Party assemblymen’s way. Kim San pretended to stop Seong-Min, who hit him in the face and left. Per Kim San’s promise, the reporter captured their altercation and received his exclusive scoop. Kim San set the bait for Seong-Min’s downfall.
At the end of the episode, Kim San met with a grim-looking Uncle Samsik. Back at the Defense Unit, Kim San was questioned about the stolen elections as the episode came to a close.
