KBS’ upcoming highly-anticipated rom-com drama Dare To Love Me features Kim Myung-Soo and Lee Yoo-Young. In a recent interview, the lead actors opened up and praised each other’s acting skills. The creators of the drama further shared the onscreen chemistry between the actors.
While Kim Myung-Soo plays Shin Yoo-Bok, a 21st-century young man with Confucian beliefs, Lee Yoo-Young plays a straightforward Kim Hong-Do. The storyline revolves around Yoo-Bok, who desires to become a webtoon writer, and Hong-Do, who wants to flourish in her career as a designer. How their life intertwines, and their love story blooms shapes the rest of the drama’s narrative.
Dare To Love Me: Kim Myung-Soo & Lee Yoo-Young on working with each other
The lead actors have been paired for the first time in a drama that too in a romantic comedy. Opening up about their onscreen chemistry, the Dare To Love Me production team shared their opinion to Sports Dunga. They said, “The characters are being portrayed in a more lovable way thanks to Kim Myung-Soo and Lee Yoo-Young’s passion for the project. Please look forward to the romantic chemistry between them which will make the drama even more enjoyable to watch.”
Praising Lee Yoo-Young, Kim Myung-Soo talked about his co-star profusely. He said, “Lee Yoo Young seems to always be thinking about Kim Hong Do. I think she is an actress who perfectly embodies her character by imagining what the character would do in every situation.”
On the other hand, Yoo-Young opened up about Myung-Soo’s acting abilities. She shared, “Actor Kim Myung-Soo had a good understanding of the character he was playing. He was essentially Shin Yoon Bok himself. He was always reliable and professional on set, and thanks to his consideration, I was able to act comfortably and happily.”
Dare To Love Me is going to air on KBS on May 13, 2024, at 10:10 p.m. KST. It will stream on Netflix as well.
