Captivating the King episode 14 features King Lee In’s loyal subjects helping him to investigate the traitor. Meanwhile, Principal Director Park Jong-Hwan begins to get rid of loose ends.
Examining the level of danger, Shin Se-Kyung’s Hee-Soo gets worried about the King. Despite being wounded, she visits the king. Another reason for her visit is to tell him that Chu Dal-Ha, who earlier tried to kill Lee In, is not the culprit. During their conversation, Jo Jung-Suk’s character reveals his brother, the former king’s last wish, which leaves Hee-Soo in shock.
Speaking about the interrogation, he tells Hee-Soo, “This interrogation is being held to find the treacherous spy of the Qing from three years ago. This is a quest I have long striven for and a duty I must fulfill.” He clears her misunderstanding regarding the investigation, claiming that it is not set to harm her.
Hee-Soo guesses the culprit is Jong-Hwan after connecting the dots from three years ago. King Lee In then mentions that he has committed a crime by ascending the throne. His brother’s last wish was to catch the traitor and give the throne to his son. Hee-Soo realizes she has always misunderstood the king as she used to think that Lee In wrongfully took over the throne. Instead, he has worn the crown to protect his late brother’s son, the Crown Prince.

Captivating the King episode 14 features Jo Jung-Suk’s King Lee In trying to find out the traitor. He also wants to know the person who poisoned his brother. The king reveals that he has kept his late brother’s court maid near him for this very day.
On the other hand, Principal Director Park Jong-Hwan is anxious that his truth will come out. Therefore, he plans to kill the king. He reaches out to the court lady, who is now Lee In’s concubine. He hands her over a box that includes lip color infused with poison.
Towards the end of the episode, Lee In summons his concubine and demands her to confess her crimes. Before doing so, she says, “I shall follow your command. In return, please grant my request.” Earlier, she has applied that lip color intending to kill him. The episode ends with her coming closer to Lee In and leaning forward to kiss his lips.
