Captivating the King Episode 1 is all set to premiere this weekend on tvN. The network recently shared a few photos from the upcoming episode starring Jo Jung-Suk and Shin Sae-Kyung.
The upcoming K-drama revolves around Jung-Suk’s Prince Lee In and Sae-Kyung’s Kang Hee-Soo. Prince Lee In is a loyal brother to his King and loves to play baduk (Go game). He becomes fond of an unknown baduk player. This unknown player is Hee-Soo, disguised as a man named Mong-Woo.

Captivating the King Episode 1 photos feature Prince Lee In (Jo Jung-Suk) protecting Shin Sae-Kyung’s Mong-Woo. The first picture shows him pulling Mong-Woo towards him with one hand and shielding any attack on her with the other hand.
The second photo documents Mong-Woo’s startled expression, while the final picture unveils the face of the attacker.
Previously, tvN released a trailer from the premiere episode featuring the King and Lee In’s conversation. It is related to the latter’s hostage situation by the Qing Dynasty. The K-drama revolves around Prince Lee In, who eventually becomes the King. But his life turns miserable with no one beside him.
Shin Sae-Kyung’s Kang Hee-Soo enters his life disguised as a male baduk player. She befriends him in order to seek revenge but will likely end up falling for him.
Captivating the King Episodes 1 release date and time
Captivating the King episode 1 will premiere on Sunday, January 21, 2024, on Netflix. The K-drama will also air on tvN at 9.20 p.m. KST. The Jo Jung-Suk series will release its episodes twice a week on Saturdays and Sundays.
