Choi Hyun-Wook is a 21-year-old South Korean actor who recently won hearts with his incredible performance in Twinkling Watermelon. He is also the main lead in the ongoing K-drama called High Cookie.
The young actor started his acting career in 2019 in web drama Real:Time:Love. He later rose to fame with his performances in Taxi Driver and Racket Boys. He was awarded the Best New Actor at the 2021 SBS Drama Awards for the K-dramas.

Twinkling Watermelon
Twinkling Watermelon K-drama recently ended. It was one of the highest-rated series this year. It is the story of Eun Gyeol (Ryeoun) who wants to play in a band but his father is against it. For context, his parents and brother are deaf. He has always been their support in public but wishes to do something for himself. One day, he time travels to his father’s high school period. Choi Hyun-Wook plays Eun Gyeol’s high schooler father Ha Yi-Chan.
The two, along with two more members, form a band called Watermelon Sugar. Meanwhile, Eun Gyeol also helps his mother’s teenage version meet Yi-Chan. The four lead cast includes Hyun-Wook, Ryeoun, Seol In-A, and Shin Eun-Soo.
High Cookie
High Cookie is the 2023 K-drama series, starring Choi Hyun-Wook and Nam Ji-Hyun (Suspicious Partner) in lead roles. It is the story of Choi Soo-Young protecting her younger brother Seo Ho-Soo who gets involved in a drug scandal.
Ho-Soo is a star student from a poor family studying in an elite school. He is often bullied and a new drug cookie at high school turned his world upside down. Apart from Hyun-Wook and Ji-Hyun, the series also stars Kim Moo-Yul, Jung Da-Bin, Seo Bum-June, Chae Seo-Eun, Song Si-An, Kwon Ji-Woo, Choi Ji-Su, Jung Hee-Tae, Kim Jung, and Park Sang-Hwi.
Taxi Driver
Taxi Driver is a popular 2021 Korean drama, starring Lee Je-Hoon in the lead role. It is the story of Kim Do-Ki whose life changes after a serial killer murders his mother. He works for a taxi company that not only provides taxi drivers but also offers “revenge calls.”
Choi Hyun-Wook plays the role of Park Seung-tae, a school bully. Although he appeared in a supporting role, his performance garnered immense appreciation from the audience and critics. He won the 2021 SBS Drama Awards for the series.
Twenty-Five Twenty-One
Twenty-Five Twenty-One is an emotional yet beautiful romance drama that also focuses on friendship. Kim Tae-Ri and Nam Joo-Hyuk are the main leads while Bona and Choi Hyun-Wook played the second lead couple. Lee Joo-Myoung was part of the group of five friends.
The K-drama tells the story of a riches to rags when Back Yi-Jin’s father goes bankrupt. He starts to deliver newspapers but eventually becomes a successful news anchor. The series also focuses on his relationship with ambitious fencer Na Hee-Do and how their careers affect their love lives.
Racket Boys
Racket Boys is the 2021 South Korean drama that stars Choi Hyun-Wook as badminton player Na Woo-Chan. The SBS sports drama revolves around a former badminton player Yoon Hyeon-Jong (Kim Sang-Kyung). Due to his family situation, he couldn’t pursue his dream but now coaches a middle school boys’ badminton team.
Hyun-Wook bagged recognition for his performance in this drama series. Aside from the aforementioned dramas, Choi Hyun-Wook also impressed viewers in Wavve’s Weak Hero Class 1 and Netflix’s D.P. 2.
