Twinkling Watermelon aired a new episode on Monday, November 13, 2023, at 8:50 p.m. KST on tvN and Viki. The series follows the story of a CODA (child of deaf adult) student traveling back in time to join fellow high school students and form a band called Watermelon Sugar. He eventually ends up meeting his parents from the past and tries to change things for the better.
Episode 15 saw Eun-Gyeol (Ryeoun) trying to avoid the accident of his father, Yi Chan (Choi Hyun-Wook) . However, despite his best efforts to collaborate with Eun-Yu (Seol In-Ah), he became the reason for Yi Chan’s accident. The latter tried to save Eun-Gyeol and met with the unfortunate accident, leading to his eventual hearing loss.

Episode 15 of Twinkling Watermelon begins at a time when Eun-Gyeol had not underwent time travel. After Yi Chan and the band members lose to a rival band, he breaks his foot and the members disband. However, Yi Chan doesn’t give up on his dream and asks for Mr. Jonathan’s help with his composed music to start a new musical band.
However, Mr. Jonathan gets a visitor, so he asks Yi Chan to leave. On the way back home, an unfortunate turn of events lead to Yi Chan’s accident. The episode shifts to Eun-Gyeol and Eun-Yu’s conversation. The latter explains that Eun-Ho made her listen to a real-life story based on his father’s (Yi Chan) hearing loss. She reveals that the accident hasn’t happened yet and that it will happen on Memorial Day.
Eun-Gyeol promises to prevent the accident this time as well. Meanwhile, Yi Chan gives his grandmother a spinning chalkboard to converse with Cheong-Ah (Shin Eun-Soo). Later on, Eun-Gyeol is taken in a car by fake cops and accused of kidnapping Cheong-Ah for ransom. However, it was Ji-Mi’s plan all along to make him sign an affidavit and confirm the accusation, forcing him to hide the truth.
However, Mr. Yoon returns to the house and is aware of Ji-Mi’s actions. He opens up the basement and finds out how Cheong-Ah was abused all these years. Mr. Yoon slaps Ji-Mi, asking her to move out of the house. Even when Ji-Mi tries to defend herself, Eun-Gyeol arrives at the scene. Mr. Shin saves Eun-Gyeol and gathers evidence against Ji-Mi.
Meanwhile, Yi Chan arrives with Cheong-Ah at the house and talks to her father about being there for his daughter. Yi Chan explains to Mr. Moon that the latter should learn sign language and compensate for the past few years that he hadn’t been there for Cheong-Ah. Mr. Moon thanks Yi Chan for the same.
The latter and Eun-Gyeol share some warm moments with the former’s grandmother. However, Eun-Gyeol listens to Yi Chan practicing the same song that Grandpa Viva made him compose when he was little. Yi Chan reveals that it is his last song before he goes to college and fulfills his grandmother’s dream to graduate. Eun-Gyeol promises to help him and asks him to stay at home the following day, to which Yi Chan agrees.
The entire band gathers at the guesthouse on Memorial Day. Eun-Yu visits the scene of the accident and successfully manages to avoid the catalyst for Yi Chan’s accident. However, she discovers that it was her mother who visited Grandpa Viva on the day of Yi Chan’s accident. She realizes Grandpa Viva is her maternal grandfather.
Eun-Gyeol meets Eun-Yu, where he learns of the new development. At the same time, the band members hear Yi Chan’s newly composed music. The latter doesn’t let them hear it more because of his promise to Eun-Gyeol, but the band forces the cassette out of his hand. Meanwhile, Eun-Gyeol realizes her and Eun-Yu had met several times because of Grandpa Viva.
On his way to Grandpa Viva’s store, Eun-Gyeol witnesses a car rushing towards him. But before anything happens, Yi Chan appears from nowhere and pushes Eun-Gyeol away from the car. Instead, he gets hit by the car. The episode ends with Eun-Gyeol crying and hugging Yi Chan’s bleeding body.
