Actors Wi Ha-Joon and Jung Ryeo-won are set to pair up for a new South Korean drama. Directed by Ahn Pan-seok, the upcoming project will be a beautiful romance series, temporarily titled Graduation.
The K-drama follows the story of an instructor and her student. Graduation is set against the backdrop of Daechi. The series features Wi Ha-Joon in the role of student Lee Joon-ho. He seeks the assistance of teacher Jung Ryeo-won, who plays the character Seo Hye-jin. After 10 years, Joon-ho returns to the academy in order to meet his first love — his instructor.
After playing a negative role in The Worst of Evil, Wi Ha-Joon is excited to play a romantic lead role. Director Ahn Pan-seok is an expert in the romance genre as he has helmed many highly acclaimed dramas, including Something in the Rain, One Spring Night, and Secret Love Affair.
The tvN network confirmed on October 19, 2023, that director Ahn Pan-seok has signed Wi Ha-joon and Jung Ryeo-won as his lead cast in his upcoming romance Korean drama.

Speaking about the project, Wok of Love’s Ryeo-won said, “I am very happy and excited to return with a romance drama after a long while. I am also very happy and grateful to be on set because I have met not only director Ahn Pan Seok, whom I always respect but also a great co-star. I will do my best to make this a great drama.”
Wi Ha-Joon also shared his thoughts on the series and the director. He mentioned, “I was drawn to the charm of the character, and the story that vividly details the emotions in everyday life is interesting. Above all, I am happy that I got to reunite with director Ahn Pan Seok, whom I first met through ‘Something in the Rain,’ through this project. I’m so excited because he’s the one who made me experience the joy of being on set.”
Also, the series centers around an instructor named Seo Hye-jin who gave her all to teach Wi Ha-Joon’s character to get admission to a prestigious university. The K-drama series will revolve around a legendary incident known as the Miracle of Daechi. This incident somehow catapults Hye-jin to popularity, with Joon-ho as the central protagonist. After the student leaves to pursue his university dream, Hye-jin continues to teach at the academy.
Fast-forward to 10 years, she is planning her retirement when Joon-ho returns as a new instructor. He leaves a high-paying job offer in order to come back to his first love, who is apparently his teacher. What will Hye-jin do as her life suddenly turns upside down with her student’s return?
Lastly, the new Korean drama is set to premiere in 2024.
