Bade Miyan Chote Miyan actress Alaya F recently shared her thoughts on the lackluster box office performance of the film in an interview with News18. Alaya plays the role of Pam, an IT specialist. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and co-stars Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Manushi Chhillar.
The film faced a tough competitor in Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan, which was also released on the same weekend. However, none of the films were able to meet box office expectations and were termed average.
Earlier in an interview, Manushi Chhillar also reacted to the film’s box office failure. Despite the film’s failed to meet commercial expectations, Alaya expressed a positive take on her experience throughout the project.
‘The reviews aren’t going to be all about critical acclaim’: Alaya F on Bade Miyan Chote Miyan
Alaya stated that the film allowed her to expand her reach and connect with new audiences. “It didn’t bother me because I feel that I got a lot from the film. I managed to reach a new audience who perhaps didn’t know of me,” Alaya explained. Addressing the nature of the film, the actress acknowledged the inherent challenges associated with action-heavy, large-scale productions.
“When you’re making a film of that scale and an action masala one at that, the reviews aren’t going to be all about critical acclaim,” she said. According to her, the real verdict on such films often comes directly from the audience.
Furthermore, Alaya discussed the polarized reception of her character in the film. She revealed that the audience’s response was split; some found her portrayal irritating, while others felt it was endearing. “I chose to do the character in a certain way. I was well aware of the fact that she wouldn’t be everyone’s cup of tea,” she admitted. She also mentioned the limitations imposed by post-production edits, which sometimes altered the intended portrayal of her character.
Despite these challenges, Alaya remained committed to her artistic choices, stating, “I gave my heart, and I did what I thought was the best.”
Bade Miyan Chote Miyan represents a critical learning curve for Alaya F and serves as a testament to the unpredictable nature of the film industry. The Jawaani Jaaneman actress is gearing up for her next release, Srikanth with Rajkumar Rao.
