Vijay Deverakonda’s highly anticipated romantic comedy, Family Star, is gearing up to hit the silver screens. However, before its theatrical release, the Censor Board raised concerns about the usage of cuss words in the film, resulting in the issuing of a U/A certificate.
To further build up the anticipation, on April 2, 2024, makers organized a grand pre-release event at a private college in Hyderabad. The event highlighted the charismatic entry of lead actors Vijay and Mrunal Thakur on a motorbike, capturing the public’s attention.
Director Parasuram also took to the stage during the event and shared his thoughts on the movie. He said, “Vijay and Mrunal owned the film and delivered a beautiful story. It carries an emotion. The Family Star will be a milestone in Vijay’s career. His hard work fits into the role of Govardhan and will be remembered for several years. Mrunal gave her best to her character (Indu). While working on Parugu as an assistant director, I dreamt of directing a film for Dil Raju’s banner (SVC). I’m glad it came true with The Family Star.”

As the release date of Family Star approaches, the film has garnered attention with its U/A certification from the Censor Board. However, reports suggest that the board has mandated muting five cuss words in the movie. After completing the censoring process, Family Star is said to have a runtime of 2 hours and 23 minutes.
During the pre-release event, Mrunal was grateful to the Telugu audience for accepting her as a Telugu girl. She also highlighted her role in Family Star and said, “But let me tell you, no one can play Indu like me in The Family Star. It’s my second collaboration with producer Dil Raju, and I look forward to teaming up with him again. Gopi Sundar’s music is wow. The ‘Kalyani Vaccha Vaccha‘ song is my favorite. It’s a dream of every girl to work with Vijay, and you will love our onscreen pairing.”
While the anticipation builds up, it remains to be seen how Family Star will perform on its opening day. The film is slated to hit the theatres on April 5, 2024.
