Salman Khan has officially withdrawn from his much-anticipated collaboration with Karan Johar on the movie The Bull. The decision comes after a prolonged period of production delays and scheduling conflicts.
The movie was initially set to mark the reunion of Salman Khan and Karan Johar after a period of 25 years. However, The Bull, directed by Vishnuvardhan, encountered a series of setbacks right from the onset. The Bull was scheduled to commence filming in November 2023. The project faced repeated postponements, pushing the start date to January, then February, and eventually May of this year.
Why did Salman Khan quit Karan Johar’s The Bull?
As discussions persisted, Karan Johar requested additional time from Salman Khan, extending the filming start date to July. However, faced with impending uncertainties and commitments elsewhere, Salman made the tough decision to prioritize a project of his close friend, Sajid Nadiadwala, over The Bull. Salman recently recently revealed the release date for his next film with Sajod Nadiadwala and A.R. Murugadoss.
The tipping point came when Salman Khan expressed his concerns about the persistent delays to Karan Johar. Ultimately, he cited fate’s intervention as the reason behind the project’s stagnation. A source close to the development informed Bollywood Hungama about Salman’s decision by stating, “Destiny doesn’t want this film to happen, so let’s move on.”
While Salman Khan’s exit from The Bull has left many fans disappointed, Karan Johar remains optimistic about future collaborations with the Bollywood icon. The producer is exploring fresh ideas for potential projects with the actor. Johar understands Salman’s stance, acknowledging the challenges faced in reaching a conclusive timeline for The Bull.
Although The Bull stands shelved from Salman’s end for now, there’s a glimmer of hope for its revival if concrete timelines can be established. Meanwhile, Salman Khan has shifted his focus to exploring new scripts. He is inviting proposals from producer and director acquaintances for projects aligned with his schedule between November and May.
With Salman Khan’s departure, the fate of The Bull hangs in the balance. This has left fans eagerly anticipating Karan Johar’s next move in the realm of cinematic collaborations.
