The clock is ticking on the latest Telugu romantic crime comedy Tillu Square. Siddhu Jonnalagadda and Anupama Parameswaran play an on-screen couple in the movie. While their chemistry became the talking point ever since the movie’s first poster was released, actress Anupama has been facing online hate. She has been receiving backlash for her intense romantic scenes with Siddhu.
The actress has often defended her intimate scenes and clarified how she is exploring new characters. However, the online backlash has affected her, which is why she chose to skip a crucial event in the movie.
Anupama Parameswaran plays the role of Lily in Tillu Square opposite Siddhu’s DJ Tillu. Mallik Ram has directed the movie, while Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas are bankrolling it.
Anupama Parameswaran skips Tillu Square event due to online backlash
Anupama Parameswaran recently skipped Tillu Square’s pre-release event. The actress’s absence was noticed by all and they questioned the team about the same. Siddhu Jonnalagadda revealed the reason behind it and defended his co-star against the online trolls she has been facing.
As per Hindustan Times, Siddhu Jonnalagadda threw light on how Anupama Parameswaran has been upset with the backlash. He said, “People have talked a lot about the film’s posters. I understand we are actors and a lot of things are said about us. But having said that, I feel that when we talk about women, we need to be careful.”
Emphasizing how people should treat women with more sensitivity, he said, “Even in real life, if you talk or flirt with a woman, she should be comfortable with it, right? The same goes for actors, it’s quite sensitive. So, let’s maintain a healthy atmosphere.”
Moreover, Jonnalagadda added how Anupama’s mood was spoiled and she was upset with the hate. He said, “I told her it’s okay if she doesn’t come to the event because her feelings are important.”
Tillu Square will hit the theaters on March 29, 2024.
