Director Prasanth Varma is currently basking in the success of his latest superhero film, HanuMan. With this movie, the director gave India a new superhero in the face of Teja Sajja. While the film has amazed the audience with its box office collection and OTT presence, all eyes are on Varma and his upcoming projects. The director has already announced the sequel to HanuMan, titled Jai Hanuman. However, this is not the one film he is allegedly working on.
Rumors are swirling in the film circles that the director will now be moving on to his next project, Octopus. Here are all the details about the upcoming film and its cast.
Prasanth Varma and Anupama Parameswaran to collaborate soon
According to a report by Gulte, Prasanth Varma has not locked any lead star for Jai Hanuman. The delay in the film’s casting has led him to shift his focus to his unfinished project, Octopus. Therefore, the filmmaker is allegedly focusing on the movie, which is said to be his next theatrical release.
The same report revealed that the director has already completed 65% of Octopus’ shooting. Moreover, it stars Telugu actress Anupama Parameswaran in the lead role. Details about the film’s plot or Anupama’s role have not been revealed yet.
Recently, Prasanth Varma teased going back to making movies after the success of HanuMan. On his X (formerly Twitter) handle, the director shared a picture along with a cryptic note. The photo seemed to be of a studio where he might be working. The caption read, “Back to my happy place! Babu.. ready babu!!” While many thought he had begun working on Jai Hanuman, the director did not confirm anything.
On the work front, Anupama Parameswaran is currently gearing up for the release of Tillu Square. The movie will mark her third outing of the year after Eagle and Siren.
