Now, the actor himself shared an update on the film, and it might be upsetting for his fans.
For the unversed, Suriya is collaborating with director Sudha Kongara again for his upcoming film, tentatively titled Suriya 43. As the title suggests, it marks the 43rd project of his career. Furthermore, the second half of the title is Puranaanooru, as per the makers’ announcement. It is the first time after the 2020 film Soorarai Pottru that the actor-director duo is coming together for another movie.

Since the past few days, rumors have been rife that Suriya 43’s production will begin soon. However, Suriya has now put all these rumors to rest by addressing his fans’ concerns regarding the film. Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) handle, the actor released a statement and revealed that the film requires more time.
His statement read, “Dear All, Puranaanooru requires more time. This collaboration is very special and close to our hearts. We are working towards giving you our best. We will be going on floors very soon. Thank you for your constant love and support.” Both the actor and director signed the statement.
Touted to be a political drama, the movie boasts an ensemble cast. Apart from Suriya, it also stars Dulquer Salmaan, Nazriya, and Vijay Varma. The makers have seemingly roped in actors from different cinemas in India. More details about the movie are awaited.
