Emraan Hashmi‘s Showtime sheds light on nepotism, power struggles, and showbiz secrets. It also stars Mahima Makwana, Mouni Roy, Naseeruddin Shah, Rajeev Khandelwal, and Shriya Saran in pivotal roles. Mihir Desai and Archit Kumar directed the series alongside creator Sumit Roy. Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Somen Mishra, and Mihir Desai serve as executive producers under Dharmatic Entertainment. It was released on Disney+ Hotstar on March 8, 2024.
Showtime Ending: Did Meena leave 1857?
Towards the end of Showtime, Mahika, Prithvi, Raghu, and Yasmin, along with others, attended the premiere of Screw Dheela. The tension between Mahika and Raghu was visible but still wasn’t significant enough to draw everyone’s attention. However, that changed when Yasmin stepped onto the red carpet.
The episode then moves ahead to display Screw Dheela’s total box office collection. Later, Mahika and Prithvi discussed completing their movie, 1857. Prithvi disclosed that he was taking his story to Nitesh Tiwari, after which Mahika suggested he should collaborate with Satya. However, Prithvi was unhappy about it.
At the end of Showtime Part 1, Armaan revealed that Meena had been cast alongside Mandira in Agent Haseena. This confirmed her exit from 1857. The media began speculating that Armaan had ousted Meena from the Tatya Tope biopic. Hence, Mandira altered the narrative and informed everyone that she was responsible for Meena’s departure.
As for Armaan, he was absent from the movie set. This angered Satya, compelling him to confront Armaan about the incident. However, as Armaan was unavailable, Satya and his team tried to contact Prithvi, who was busy narrating his story to Nitesh Tiwari.
Why was 1857 boycotted?
The press started a rumor that Armaan was dating his former co-star and fling, Saira. He attempted to shut down the gossip, but it was too late. This prompted nationalist groups to boycott Armaan’s presence in 1857.
More rumors circulated that Zico had either leaked the photos of Armaan and Saira or was behind the nationalist groups attacking Viktory Studios. Matters worsened when Rustom informed Mahika that he was planning to withdraw from the project, putting Mahika and her career in jeopardy.
What will happen in Part 2 of Showtime?
Per the teaser at the end of Showtime Part 1, the upcoming Part 2 will depict a tax raid at Raghu’s production house, suggesting a delay in his plans. Saajan will also cut ties with Raghu and attempt a relationship with Mahika. Mandira and Armaan’s relationship is expected to come to an end. On the other hand, Raghu and Mandira might forge a relationship. At the same time, he would force her to use public sympathy for her breakup and use it to her own advantage.
Meanwhile, Yasmin will either proceed with her abortion or choose to keep the baby while also ending her relationship with Raghu. As for Armaan, he will compel Mahika to fire Satya. However, Mahika will stand firm in her decision to let go of 1857. Nonetheless, Raghu will do everything in his power to undermine Mahika.
