Bramayugam director spills beans about his new horror film

During an interview with ETimes, Rahul Sadasivan revealed why he opted for a black-and-white theme for Bramayugam. He said, “It’s a mystery thriller. It falls into a little bit of the horror genre as well. It is a fictional story with fictional characters.

He added, “It’s a period setting, and black and white was the best setting to tell this story.”

The director further revealed the challenges he faced while making the film. In the same conversation, he said, “Yes, it was challenging. But there was never a thought of telling this story in a color format. I felt the decision to shoot in black-and-white itself was an enlightenment because everyone seems to be excited about it now! I pitched this film to the cast and crew to shoot it in black and white. This is a black-and-white film, and I can’t see it in color.” The director further revealed that he did a test shoot for the film ahead of its filming.

Bramayugam hit theaters on February 15, 2024.
