Vijay to Quit Acting After Thalapathy 69?

Vijay is undoubtedly among the most prominent and beloved actors in Tamil cinema. The actor rules millions of hearts with his impeccable craft as well as the box office. As he recently announced his new political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, he has been receiving immense support from the audience. Moreover, the Leo actor even revealed that he is quitting his acting career and joining politics.

Thalapathy Vijay is currently shooting for his upcoming film, The Greatest of All Time. The movie is under production at the moment and the actor has been rigorously working on it. However, as per Vijay’s latest announcement, he will seemingly be seen in another movie and that might be his last one.

Thalapathy Vijay announces to quit acting and pursue a career in politics

Vijay recently announced his new political party and revealed that he will participate in the 2026 assembly elections. The actor issued a long statement as he established his new party.

In his statement, the actor revealed that he is quitting his acting career. As per the Times of India, the statement read, “Finally, politics is not just another career for me; it is a sacred people’s work. To know not only the height of politics but also its length and width, I have been preparing myself for it for a long time by studying lessons from many of us. So politics is not a hobby for me. That is my deepest desire. I want to fully involve myself in it.”

Vijay added, “On my behalf, I am going to complete another film-related commitment that I have already agreed to, without interfering with party work, and fully engage in politics for the service of the people. I consider that as a debt of gratitude to the people of Tamil Nadu.”

Several reports have claimed that Vijay has joined hands with Karthik Subbaraj for Thalapathy 69. However, it has not been revealed if it would mark his last movie.
