Tamil star Dhanush is all set to entertain his fans with the upcoming film Captain Miller. The actor will be seen in an all-new avatar in this period action drama. The film’s trailer was recently unveiled and has created a massive buzz among fans. Dhanush is seen involved in some high-octane action sequences. While there are only a few days left in the film’s release, some details about its plot have been revealed.
Arun Matheswaran is helming the film, while Sathya Jyothi Films is producing it. Though the movie was earlier scheduled to release in December 2023, it was pushed to January 2024. The film will hit the theaters on January 12, 2024. It will compete with Sivakarthikeyan’s Ayalaan and Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi’s Merry Christmas because of its Pongal release.
What is Dhanush’s character in Captain Miller?
Recently, film industry expert Christopher Kanagaraj shared some details about the upcoming film’s plot on X (formerly Twitter). The expert shared a post in which he wrote, “A man leaves and turns against the British-led Indian military after witnessing atrocity in this Tamil-language period drama. Frequent scenes of bloody violence fill out a tale of uprising in the hope of justice.” He further claimed that the film will have 60% drama and 40% action.
Arun Matheswaran has also spilled beans about turning the flick into a film franchise. He recently revealed that if Captain Miller succeeds, it will have a prequel and a sequel. This means that the director has planned a three-part film franchise.
The film’s Telugu-dubbed version was also slated to get a simultaneous release. However, as the film’s Telugu trailer has not been unveiled yet, it is being speculated that the dubbed release has been postponed. This is allegedly because of the several movie releases in the Telugu industry around Sankranti. However, no official announcement has been made yet.
