Dhanush’s Raayan Advance Booking Day 1: How Many Tickets Were Sold?

The highly anticipated Tamil action drama, Raayan, is set to hit theaters on July 26, 2024. The film has generated considerable buzz with its thrilling trailer. The excitement is further palpable with the advance booking sales. With a substantial number of tickets already snapped up, it’s clear that audiences are eagerly awaiting this release.

How many tickets did Dhanush’s movie Raayan sell?

According to Sacnilk, Dhanush’s Raayan has already earned an impressive $463,531 in advance bookings, with 272,071 tickets sold for 5,140 shows. The film will be released in multiple languages, including Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. Notably, the majority of tickets have been sold in the Tamil-speaking regions, followed by the Telugu belt. In contrast, the Hindi market has seen fewer sales, with only 5,742 tickets sold. Despite facing competition from the Hollywood release Deadpool & Wolverine, Raayan has racked up decent numbers. Nonetheless, these figures might change as the release date approaches.

Raayan is a milestone for Dhanush, marking his 50th lead role and showcasing his talents behind and in front of the camera. It stars Prakash Raj, Sundeep Kishan, Selvaraghavan, S. J. Suryah, Kalidas Jayaram, and Dushara Vijayan in pivotal roles. The film also promises an intense epic clash between Dhanush and S. J. Suryah.

Moreover, the Central Board of Film Certification has awarded Raayan an ‘A’ certificate due to its strong violence, explicit scenes, nudity, and abusive language. As a result, this rating restricts the movie to viewers above the age of 18.

Regarding the story behind the film’s name, actor Sundeep Kishan explained, “It is our surname in the film. I asked Dhanush Anna about an alternative title for the Telugu version. This is a story that happens in the northern part of Madras. Dhanush Garu felt changing the title might affect the authenticity of the story.”

With Raayan set to release tomorrow, it will be interesting to see how audiences react to its theatrical debut. Stay tuned for more updates.
