Kangana Ranaut‘s new movie, Tejas, is no less than an ode to the Indian Air force and women fighter jet pilots.
Sarvesh Mewara wrote and directed the action thriller. Ronnie Screwvala produced the movie under the banner of RSVP Movies. Tejas stars Kangana Ranaut, Anshul Chauhan, Vishak Nair and Varun Mitra. It also stars Ashish Vidyarthi, Kashyap Shangari, Sunit Tandon, Rio Kapadia, Mohan Agashe among others.
The premise of the movie revolves around an Indian Air Force pilot who is on a mission to rescue an Indian spy with some very confidential information. Tejas released in theatres on October 27, 2023 and premiered on ZEE5 on January 5, 2024.

Tejas Ending: Were Tejas and Afia able to rescue Prashant?
Towards the end of Tejas, the plan to use a cargo plane from Norway worked successfully. The credits for the same went to the seamless execution performed by the teams of Norway and India. However, no rescue mission could work out without any unexpected twists. The Norwegian cargo plane was now under suspicion by the Pakistani military.
But this was purposely done so that Tejas and Afia get ample time to work on their intelligence in order to not get caught by the enemy. While the tension was palpable, the Norwegian pilot’s presence of mind made sure the two pilots were not busted as it would’ve led to their arrest.
Tejas and Afia were able to place the optical illusion panels far away from the Air Traffic Controller. This was done to prevent disruptions during their rescue mission. Tejas’ plan was working because they could trick the Pakistan ATC. The two then walked across the desert, killed all the terrorists, and successfully rescued Prashant.
What was Tejas’ plan?
They informed Prashant about the planned attack on the Ram temple, which was going to have its inauguration on the same day. This was the real reason behind the rescue mission – to find out who could be the target. The temple was going to have devotees from around the country, but the terrorists were targeting the temple to only create a sense of hostility against the faith.
Later, Tejas and Afia took off in their planes with Prashant but got detected on the ATC radar. The enemy planes then started attacking them, initiating a dogfight between the planes. It was an anticipated last-resort action from the enemy nation to capture the pilots and Prashant. Tejas and Afia secured their victory only because they were able to carry out this mission without making a lot of noise.
Although the NSG troops had neutralized the terrorists at the Ram temple, but Tejas was determined to eliminate the mastermind, Khatooni, responsible for the terrorist attack. Tejas decided to go against the orders and planned to bomb the Khatooni’s den. This was her way of ending the extremism that made her homeland a target frequently.
Was Tejas able to kill Khatooni?
The movie ends with Tejas planning to bomb and kill Khatooni but her jet malfunctions due to the attacks by the Pakistani fighter jets. The only way out was to crash the jet into the coordinates provided to her in a Kamikaze style. She wanted to make the ultimate sacrifice and go out as a hero. Although Afia, Prashant and her superiors tried to stop her, Tejas had made up her mind. She also knew that this sacrifice would also bring her closer to her parents and Ekveer.
The last shot saw Tejas speaking to Ekveer about why she loved her job. he believed that protecting the country as one protects a loved one would prevent many stories of sacrifices from going unheard. She believed that the ultimate sacrifice that could make people immortal, and she did just that.
