Kangana Ranaut was last seen donning the Indian Air Force uniform in the action thriller Tejas. The film came out on October 27 but failed to attract the masses to watch it in theaters. While Kangana’s dedication to the film was widely appreciated, it was not reflected in the numbers that it earned. However, the film is expected to reach the right audience because of its digital release.
Tejas faced tough competition with Vikrant Massey’s 12th Fail because both movies were released on the same day. As a result, the Kangana Ranaut starrer allegedly minted $700,000 at its worldwide box office against its budget of a whopping $8.8 million. Anshul Chauhan and Varun Mitra played supporting characters in the film.
Where to watch Kangana Ranaut’s Tejas?
Kangana Ranaut’s latest action thriller, Tejas, is set to arrive on the OTT platform Zee5 on January 5. Those who missed the film in theaters can now catch it on the first Saturday of the new year.
Sarvesh Mewara wrote and directed the film, while Ronnie Screwwala produced it. Tejas is based on the story of a real-life Air Force pilot, Tejas Gill.
The makers held a special screening of the film for Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ahead of its release. Sharing pictures on Instagram from the screening, Kangana Ranaut wrote, “Today hosted a screening of Tejas a film based on a soldier / Martyr’s life for honorable Chief Ministers @myogi_adityanath ji and @pushkarsinghdhami.uk ji.” “As you can see in the first picture, Maharaj ji couldn’t hold back his tears in the last monologue of Tejas. ‘What does a soldier want.’ Maharaj ji became so emotional seeing the courage, bravery and sacrifice of our soldiers that their eyes were overflowing. Thank you Maharaj ji we are blessed by your praise and blessings.”
On the work front, Emergency is Kangana Ranaut’s next project. She will play former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the movie. Anupam Kher and Manisha Koirala will play supporting characters.
