Salaar, directed by Prashant Neel, hit theaters in the early hours of December 22, 2023. The Telangana government approved early shows at 1 am and 4 am IST, leading to grand celebrations by Prabhas’ fans both inside and outside the theaters.
The narrative of Salaar follows the journey of two best friends in Khansaar, who eventually turn into enemies. The movie is characterized by intense action fight scenes, violence, and bloodshed, earning it an ‘A’ certificate from the CBFC.
Moreover, Salaar is presented by the makers of KGF, starring Yash, who holds a special place in the hearts of fans following the success of KGF and KGF Chapter 2. Like KGF, the theme and filter of Salaar evoke a familiar vibe for fans.
Despite speculations about Yash making a cameo appearance, the makers later confirmed that there is no cameo of Yash in Salaar. Moreover, the Prabhas-starrer has no connection to the KGF universe.
Prabhas’ Salaar: Yash ‘thanks’ card explained
Despite the official confirmation from the Salaar makers, fans still held out hope for the entry of Yash alongside Prabhas. In the initial stages of the movie, a ‘Thanks Card’ is displayed for Yash. Fans connected this card with the possibility of a Yash cameo. However, the card was actually shown to commemorate the completion of five years since the release of KGF Chapter 1 on December 21, 2018. This gesture indicates the makers’ heartfelt gratitude towards the fans and the star.
In other news, Director Prashant Neel has also revealed the name of Salaar Part 2. Now, it will be interesting to see the box office collection Salaar achieves at the end of its first day.
