After the success of The Archies, Agastya Nanda is gearing up for his next project, Ekkis. Directed by Sriram Raghavan and produced by Dinesh Vijan, the film is a biopic on 1971 war hero Arun Khetarpal.
Ekkis would mark the second collaboration between Sriram Raghavan and Dinesh Vijan. The duo previously worked together on Badlapur (2015). As per reports, the movie will feature Agastya Nanda and Dharmendra in key roles.
With the biopic, director Sriram wants to highlight the father-son emotion alongside the 1971 War. Arun Khetarpal was an Indian military officer and a posthumous recipient of the Param Vir Chakra. His actions during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, particularly in the Battle of Basantar at Shakargarh, earned him this prestigious honor, although he was killed in action there.
Agastya Nanda will lead Sriram Raghavan’s directorial Ekkis
Agastya Nanda will be leading the film as Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, while veteran actor Dharmendra will play the role of his father, Lt Col (later Brigadier) ML Khetarpal. As per reports, the shooting for Ekkis will commence in January 2024.
A source revealed, “2023 was an eventful year for Agastya as not just did he make his acting debut with The Archies, but also signed on for a Sriram Raghavan film. Agastya has attended several acting workshops with the Sriram and specially trained acting coaches to polish his body language and step into the shoes of India’s most celebrated war hero, Arun Khetarpal.”
Agastya Nanda is excited to make his big-screen debut with Ekkis. The source further added, “Agastya will spend December and the first half of January reading the script. He will also be doing some workshops to rehearse for the schedule ahead. Sriram wanted a young actor to play the part of Arun Khetarpal. He feels that Agastya fits the role like a hand in a glove. After months of prep, Sriram and Agastya are now all set to commence the journey of bringing the heroic tale to the big screen.”
