Animal movie on Netflix: Bobby Deol reveals kissing scene with Ranbir Kapoor was deleted
Animal has received an ‘A’ rating from The Central Board of Film Certification due to its violent plot. The film sets its premise around the bond between a father and son, which eventually turns the son into a wicked criminal.
In a recent interview, Bobby Deol talked about another significant scene that director Sandeep Reddy Vanga removed from the theatrical version. He also hinted that the scene might be added to the Netflix version.
Bobby described the scene as Vanga wanted to show that the two characters had an underlying love for each other. However, they also wanted to kill one another. According to him, the director planned the film’s climax sequence to feature a love-themed song playing in the background. He added that “there was a kiss” between the two characters as well.
He recalled, “You’re fighting, and you suddenly kiss him, and then you don’t give up, and he kills you.” He added, “But he [Vanga] removed the kiss. There was a kiss. I think it might come on the uncut Netflix version. After saying all this, he said, ‘You’re mute’.”
Despite the critical response for its portrayal towards women and promoting toxic masculinity, the film has garnered over USD 83 million globally. This year’s biggest film for Bollywood also marks the career biggest for actor Ranbir Kapoor.
