Disney+ Hotstar presents its latest Telugu web series, Vadhuvu, Avika Gor‘s second collaboration with the streaming giant after the success of Mansion 24. Krishna Poluru has directed the show. Poluru is renowned for his work on ZEE5’s thriller, Recce.
Vadhuvu follows the journey of a young woman on the verge of marriage as she steps into a house filled with secrets and mysteries, setting the stage for a gripping narrative. The series boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Ali Reza, Nandu, Roopa Laxmi, and Mounika, among others, adding depth to the storytelling.
The creators have made significant alterations to the show’s ambiance, aesthetics, and music compared to the original, Indu. This provided technicians with the freedom to explore beyond the source material.
Telegu show Vadhuvu is a remake of Bengali series Indu
Vadhuvu is a Telugu adaptation of the Bengali hit Indu, available on Hoichoi. Director Krishna Poluru, drawing from his experience in television, has managed to shoot the series in record time.
The series culminates in a cliffhanger ending, leaving viewers with more questions than answers. Similar to the process of gradual character development in films, the first season of Vadhuvu aims to offer audiences a glimpse into its world.
Interestingly, the makers kept many actors in the dark about the plot and twists. This allowed them to further formulate their own theories during the shoot. Ali Reza and Nandu, who play siblings in the series, share a surprising dynamic, with Nandu cast as the elder brother despite being younger in reality. This also adds an extra layer of intrigue to the family dynamics explored in the show.
On the technical front, Krishna Poluru has retained the cinematographer, editor, and music director from his previous project, Recce. Ram K Mahesh is behind the camera and Sriram Maddury handles the music. Additionally, Anil P Kumar, known for his work on ZEE5’s Loser, takes charge of editing. Produced by SVF, the team behind the hit OTT show Dayaa, starring JD Chakravarthy, Vadhuvu definitely promises to be a riveting addition to Disney+ Hotstar’s diverse content lineup.
