Tiger 3 Day 4 Box Office Collection: Salman Khan’s Movie Records 50% Dip

In the ever-fluctuating landscape of Bollywood box office collections, Salman Khan’s much-anticipated movie Tiger 3 took the nation by storm on Diwali. The film marked a blockbuster opening day with a whopping $5.3 million. However, as the dust settles after the initial excitement, the film faced an unexpected twist on its day 4 as it recorded a 50% dip in collections.

Tiger 3 day 4 box office collection: How much did Salman Khan’s film earn?

The downward spiral, as reported by industry tracker Sacnilk, saw the film’s box office number plummet from an impressive $5.2 million to $2.6 million on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. This unforeseen decline raised eyebrows, especially considering that Wednesday coincided with Bhai Dooj, a holiday celebrated in various parts of the country.

Despite this setback, Tiger 3’s collective domestic box office collection rests at $20.3 million. Moreover, even in the worldwide box office collection, the tally is $29 million. The film’s ambitious release across 4500 screens nationwide and over 1684 shows in the Delhi-NCR region couldn’t shield it from a less-than-stellar 19% occupancy. Similarly, in Mumbai, with 1336 shows, it reported an occupancy rate of only 18.25%.

It is important to note that the production house took the decision to release Tiger 3 on a Sunday, keeping in mind the consecutive festival dates. In a press note, they stated, “Complex release window this Diwali has prompted YRF to devise a strategic and unique release plan. 2023 is the year of ‘Adhik Maas,’ which has led to complications regarding festival dates.”

Further adding, “This year, Monday, November 13, is New Moon/Amavasya and the Govardhan Pooja/Gujarati New Year falls on November 14. Bhai Dooj is on November 15, giving the film an extended run in this crucial holiday period, which will aid in collections through the week.”

Tiger 3 is the first Hindi film in 12 years to release in theaters on Diwali, which was a risk worth taking. However, given the recent box office collection, the plan didn’t work out to its best capacity.
