As the box office momentum of Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s horror comedy, Stree 2, begins to slow, the film’s collection on day 13 reflects a significant slowdown. After a remarkable run buoyed by holidays and two weekends, Stree 2 faced a major dip in its collections on Tuesday, August 27, 2024.
Stree 2 box office collection day 13: Shraddha Kapoor’s movie records lowest collection
On its day 13, Stree 2 reportedly recorded its lowest collection to date. The movie earned an estimated $1.3 million on Tuesday, marking a major drop of nearly 38% from its Monday collections. This dip is noteworthy as it is the first time the film’s earnings fell below $1.7 million, breaking the trend of its consistently high performance.
Given the end of multiple holidays and two weekends that initially boosted its collections, the film’s decline was somewhat anticipated. Despite this, Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s movie has managed to maintain its position in the double digits, which is still commendable for a working day. The movie’s total collection now stands at an estimated $51.8 million, with a global collection surpassing $71.4 million. This places it as the second highest-grossing film of the year, just behind the Prabhas-starring Kalki 2898 AD.
Moreover, Stree 2 has become the second Indian movie of the year to sell over $23.8 thousand tickets, following Kalki 2898 AD. With $24.5 thousand tickets sold, it surpasses Fighter and stands as a major success in terms of footfalls. Furthermore, Stree 2 is performing strongly in international markets. The movie has crossed $10 million in foreign territories, with the United States, the Middle East, and Canada leading the charge. Given the lack of competition in the upcoming weeks, there’s also a potential to reach $17 to $18 million.
While Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s movie is witnessing a dip in collections, its overall performance remains a blockbuster.
