If there’s one actor who’s vocal about voluntary sabbaticals, it’s Aamir Khan. The actor had been on sabbatical for nearly one and a half years, but now he is gearing up to return to the screens again with Sitaare Zameen Par.
As per reports, Aamir Khan has signed his Dangal co-star Fatima Sana Shaikh for his next production. It will be helmed by Advait Chandan, who had earlier directed Aamir Khan’s Secret Superstar. The director is currently working on the script and will begin production in the first half of 2024. The untitled film is likely to be a comedy drama featuring an ensemble cast.
Aamir Khan had previously signed Fatima Sana Shaikh for the Hindi remake of the Malayalam film, Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey. The actress had a theatrical release with Dhak Dhak and is set to appear in Sam Bahadur with Vicky Kaushal as well as by Metro…In Dino, which is directed by Anurag Basu.
Aamir Khan on Sitaare Zameen Par and his upcoming exciting projects
Aamir Khan had taken time off after his movie Laal Singh Chaddha in 2022. The actor recently talked about it when his kids, Junaid and Ira, told him that they can’t devote all their time to him.
At the Amrit Ratna 2023 event, he shared that his children sat him down and explained, “You have always been an extreme person. When you were working, you were only working. And now you want to stay only with us. There is a middle road that normal people follow. We too have a life and we need time for ourselves.”
Aamir Khan currently has five movies lined up as a producer. Laapataa Ladies by Kiran Rao and Pritam Pyaare by Sunil Pandey have already been finished. Two of his movies will soon be entering production. These include One Day remake, starring Aamir’s son Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi, as well as Rajkumar Santoshi’s Lahore, 1947, with Sunny Deol.
Besides that, he is all set to make a comeback to the big screen with Sitaare Zameen Par, which he’s both producing and the starring in. The film, reportedly follows a similar theme to that of Taare Zameen Par (2007), will start filming in January 2024.
