New imprint acquires Canadian rights to Black Fawn horror flick BITE.

United Front Entertainment, the fledgling imprint founded by ex-Anchor Bay execs Susan Curran and Rob Herholz, have acquired the Canadian digital and home entertainment rights from Breakthrough Entertainment to distribute director Chad Archibald’s acclaimed body-horror feature BITE.

The movie has already been released in the U.S. theatrically, digitally and via Blu-ray/DVD by Scream Factory.

United Front and Breakthrough will also be partnering with Black Fawn Distribution to help bring the sting home to horror fans across Canada.

BITE is produced by Black Fawn Films (BED OF THE DEAD, THE HERETICS) and is distributed worldwide by Breakthrough Entertainment. The film had its world premiere at Montreal’s Fantasia International Film Festival, where it took home one of the festival’s coveted audience awards. BITE went on to screen at some of the most well renowned festivals in the world including SITGES (Spain), Fright Fest (United Kingdom), Blood in the Snow (Toronto, CA) and Frightmare Fest (Texas, USA).

The film, which stars the lovely Elma Begovic as a would-be-bride who is slowly morphing into a Kafka-esque goo-bug, will make its Digital Debut August 2, 2016 followed by its DVD and Blu-ray release on September 6, 2016 from United Front Entertainment and Black Fawn Distribution.

Bonus features on the the DVD/Blu-ray release will include a filmmaker commentary with Archibald and producers Chris Giroux and Cody Calahan as well as five in-depth docs that chronicle the set design and splat-tastic practical FX designs.
