Second Wave of Features Announced for 2016 Fantastic Cinema & Craft Beer Festival

Arkansas horror and fantasy film festival announces second wave of features.

It’s getting close to showtime for the Fantastic Cinema & Craft Beer Festival, the wild, weird movie and suds party going down from April 7-10 in Little Rock, Arkansas and co-presented by SHOCK TILL YOU DROP.

After announcing the first batch of titles last week, festival just announced their second wave of scheduled movies, featuring critically acclaimed films, festival award winners and other pictures that have won accolades on the international festival circuit.

This second wave focuses primarily on a few cool sci-fi features plus one horror film, the latter being this writer and your editor’s own feature opus, FEMALE WEREWOLF.

Sez features programmer Tony Taylor, “FEMALE WEREWOLF happens to be the first film I marked as a definite yes on my programming list.  It was early in the process but that did not matter. I knew no matter what else I watched over the next few months, this was a film I wanted at Fantastic Cinema. And we are thrilled to have the film’s director, Chris Alexander, at the festival!”

Yes, I’ll be there. Hope to see YOU there too.

Here’s what  Dread Central said about my strange little psychodrama:

“Driven by obsessive imagery, sensuality and music, favoring beauty and emotion over graphic gore and shock but still filled with darkness and dread. Clearly, the influence of early Polanski and the lesser-known Rino Di Silvestro’s Legend of the Werewolf Woman is in evidence…but, it’s definitely got its own unique vibe… beautifully shot and edited very artistically, complete with a hypnotic score.”

The rest of the bill is made up of three wild Sci-Fi features, joining the previously announced ARROWHEAD and several short films.

PRISONER X, fresh off winning the Critics Award at genre festival Fantasporto, will be screening in the US for only the second time. The film will receive a US Premiere at Palm Beach International Film Festival only a mere 2 days before screening at Fantastic Cinema.

MAFIA: SURVIVAL GAME comes to us from Russia and features great special effects. Featuring an English language dub, it will also be screening in the US for only the second time after premiering at Boston Sci-Fi Film Festival.

Finally, SOMNIO had its World Premiere at Boston Sci-Fi Film Festival where it won an award for Best Screenplay. Fantastic Cinema will be the second film festival to screen the film which should go on to be a festival favorite.
