Contest: Win a Copy of Barbie Wilde’s VOICES OF THE DAMNED

SHOCK wants to give one lucky reader a copy of writer Barbie Wilde’s brilliant new book.

While some people are content in locking into a single professional identity that defines their adult life, Barbie Wilde is not one of them. Not by a long shot. The artist, who is most notable to fans of this site as the stone-faced and pierced Female Cenobite in the Clive Barker-blessed sequel HELLBOUND: HELLRAISER II, has worn many hats in her life-to-date: actress, TV host, dancer, rock star, model and, for the last several years, writer.

This scribe has had a lengthy relationship with Wilde, starting with an affection for her bizarre, Barker-influenced and yet decidedly feminine, psycho-sexual horror fiction, then locking her as the subject of an interview conducted while I was the editor of FANGORIA, then later still,  publishing some of her magnificently tasteless fiction in the pages of GOREZONE magazine. And during it all, forging a lifelong friendship.

Which is why I’m incredibly excited (and proud) about the publication of Wilde’s new book, a sumptuous hardcover collection of her short stories accompanied by a stunning selecting of original, full color artwork and illustrations created by some of the most imaginative artists in the genre: Clive Barker, Nick Percival, Steve McGinnis, Daniele Serra, Eric Gross, Tara Bush, Vincent Sammy, & Ben Baldwin.

The tome is titled VOICES OF THE DAMNED, a collection of 11 wild Wilde tales that will surge your hormones and chill your blood. Stories stacked with rebellious female demons, devilish witches, semen-hungry neo-vampires, raging gods and home invaders, the fiends of sleep paralysis, pint-sized store-front preachers with a whiff of sulfur, body horrors of the most grotesque kind, clandestine aliens and Zulu zombies.

SHOCK would like to give you the chance to win a copy of this incredible book along with an accompanying softcover supplement that spotlights the art alone.

To win, just type the words WILD ABOUT WILDE in the subject line of an email and send it to chris.alexander@shocktillyoudrop.com.

The lucky winner will be chosen at random.

Good luck and be sure to visit Wilde’s offical page for more about her wonderful, strange world.
