Exclusive Sneek Peak at Violent Future-Shock Noir NARCOPOLIS

BLADE RUNNER meets MIAMI VICE in writer/director Justin Trefgarne’s moody and macabre mind bender NARCOPOLIS, opening in New York City this Friday, October 2nd at the IFC Center.

Veteran British thesp Jonathan Pryce, he of SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES and BRAZIL fame stars in this strange thriller, set in a future where all drugs are legal and life is cheap. While investigating a grisly overdose death, hard-boiled cop Frank Grieves (Elliot Cowan) gets drawn into a deadly conspiracy involving a lethal new super-drug and a shadowy mega-corporation. Conjuring a stunningly realized universe in which gritty violence unfolds in a sleek digital dystopia.

Described as a “propulsive, visually explosive head-trip”, NARCOPOLIS sounds like just the eccentric, heady, cross-genre indie flick we’ve been waiting for. The fact that Trefgarne’s previous credits include directing dozens of episodes of Nickelodeon’s kid-centric Potter-boiler series PETER RABBIT, only makes the entire enterprise that much odder and alluring…

Check out this EXCLUSIVE sneak peek below, in which Cowan pokes and prods a very dead person that’s missing half his head.
