Edgar Allan Poe’s immortal short story, “The Tell-Tale Heart” will be adapated to a college-set thriller in director Colin Theys’ (Deep in the Darkness) Tell-Tale Lies.
Written by John Doolan (Deep in the Darkness), Tell Tale Lies will star Alexa PenaVega (Repo!) and Beau Mirchoff (MTV’s Awkward) in what sound to be a blend of the origianl story and something like Danny Boyle’s Shallow Grave or prank-gone-wrong slashers. Tell Tale Lies “revolves around four friends at a prestigious university whose promising futures are jeopardized when they become connected to the accidental death of a classmate. When another student says she knows about their involvement, the friends panic and start to plot her murder.” Renee Olstead, who can currently be seen onscreen in Unfriended also stars. [Deadline]
