Just yesterday, I sang the praises of David Robert Mitchells unsettling It Follows, a film I truly believe to be a new American horror great. Now, just after the UK trailer debuted, the official U.S. trailer and U.S. release for this incredible film have been revealed and again, font plays a key role.
Speaking to the UK trailer for It Follows, I discussed how Albertus/John Carpenter font was particularly appropriate for Mitchells film, given its sheen-synth score and masterful framing. Here Radius-TWC recalls a certain Wes Craven classic currently celebrating a 30th anniversary. Again, perfect. It Follows is the heir to Elm Street. A group of teens team up against this supernatural stalker in a film mostly devoid of parents, and one that concerns itself with the sex lives of adolescents. Its both fantastical and frightening, and really something special.
In the film, starring The Guest‘s Maika Monroe, “a teenager finds herself haunted by nightmarish visions and the inescapable sense that something is after her after a strange sexual encounter.”
Radius-TWC releases It Follows March 27, 2015. I cant wait for you to see it. [iTunes]
