Hitting this week is Dream House, the 2011 horror film by Jim Sheridan.
Successful publisher Will Atenton (Daniel Craig) quit a job in New York City to relocate his wife, Libby (Rachel Weisz), and two girls to a quaint New England town. But as they settle into their new life, they discover their perfect home was the murder scene of a mother and her children. And the entire city believes it was at the hands of the husband who survived.When Will investigates the tragedy, his only lead comes from Ann Paterson (Watts), a neighbor who was close to the family that died. As Will and Ann piece together the disturbing puzzle, they discover that the story of the last man to leave Wills dream house will be just as horrifying to the one who came next.
Next is Gallows Hill. Peter Facinelli, Sophia Myles and Nathalia Ramos star in the film, directed by Victor Garcia, which follows an American widowed husband who flies to Bogota with his new fiancée to retrieve his rebellious teenage daughter Jill. A car accident leaves these group stranded at a anisolated inn. There, they discover the old innkeeper has locked a young girl in the basement and their decision to set her free has unintended consequences.
Then there’s Comforting Skin from 2011. A lonely young woman’s desperate need for emotional and sexual companionship draws her into a surreal and ultimately destructive relationship with a shifting and whispering tattoo she has willed to life on her skin.
