The film has moved from an April 10, 2015 release to April 17, 2015.
Ushering in a new era of horror, Universal Pictures Unfriended unfolds over a teenagers computer screen as she and her friends are stalked by an unseen figure who seeks vengeance for a shaming video that led a vicious bully to kill herself a year earlier.
After Universal executives saw a test screening of Unfriended terrify a test audience, the studio acquired the thriller that was developed and conceived by visionary filmmaker Timur Bekmambetov.
Directed by Levan Gabriadze, the film is written by Nelson Greaves and produced by Bekmambetov and Greaves, as well as Jason Blum for Blumhouse Productions.
Next is M. Night Shyamalan’s The Visit (formerly known as Sundowning). The film hits theaters September 11, 2015.
Writer/director/producer M. Night Shyamalan (The Sixth Sense, Signs, Unbreakable) returns to his roots with the terrifying story of a brother and sister who are sent to their grandparents remote Pennsylvania farm for a weeklong trip.
Once the children discover that the elderly couple is involved in something deeply disturbing, they see their chances of getting back home are growing smaller every day.
Shyamalan produced The Visit through his Blinding Edge Pictures, while Blum produces through his Blumhouse Productions alongside Mark Bienstock (Quarantine 2: Terminal). Steven Schneider (Insidious) and Ashwin Rajan (Devil) executive produce the thriller.
