It’s not even 8 a.m. here in Los Angeles and I feel like my brain has just melted watching Too Many Cooks, the latest short film (?) that aired during Adult Swim. This is insanity. Pure insanity. How do I even set this up? Well, it takes its inspiration from the terribly cheesy sitcom opening credits of the ’80s. And then it stays in that moment for 11 minutes, along the way becoming very meta, then a macabre, cannibalistic slasher film, then an ’80s cartoon, then something patriotic…then something entirely else. It’s madness/genius and my brain is trying to comprehend the creative logic that went into making this.
